TOUR ITINERARYDay 1: New Zealand to ShanghaiBegin our Wendy Wu Tours group holiday to China. Travel with Singapore Airlines to Shanghai, on arrival transfer to our hotel for 3 nights. Days 2-3: ShanghaiExperience the city on sightseeing tours of the Shanghai Museum and the famous Bund. This evening is our welcoming banquet of traditional Shanghai cuisine. The following day visit the Yu Garden and Old Town, the Pudong New Economic Zone, explore the Xintiandi area with its 1920’s style ‘shikumen’ buildings unique to Shanghai. Enjoy an evening Huangpu River Cruise. Day 4: Shanghai to GuilinEnjoy the morning at leisure before flying to the beautiful city of Guilin, where upon arrival we will be transferred to our hotel. Days 5-6: Guilin to Yangshuo (Li River Cruise) to GuilinRelax on a spectacular Li River Cruise, whilst enjoying the breathtaking views as we travel to the town of Yangshuo. The following morning enjoy a visit to the colourful local markets before returning to Guilin by bus, visiting the Seven Star Cave, located in Seven Star Park, along the way. Days 7-8: XianVisit Mt Diecai to view the stunning karst landscape before flying to the ancient city of Xian, this evening enjoy a traditional Shui Jiao Banquet. The following day, visit the most important archaeological discovery of the 20th Century, the life-size Terracotta Warriors followed by the Ancient City Wall, one of the few remaining in all of China. This evening enjoy a performance of Tang Dynasty Dancing. Day 9: Xian to BeijingVisit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, the Shaanxi Provincial Museum and stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Great Mosque and explore the Islamic food markets. Afterwards fly to Beijing for 4 nights. This evening enjoy a sample of the delicious local specialty, ‘Peking Duck’. Days 10-12: BeijingBeijing is a city full of wonders. Our first day of sightseeing includes a visit to famous Tiananmen Square and the treasure filled Forbidden City. Tomorrow take an exciting walk on the Great Wall, and tour the Temple of Heaven. The following day enjoy a morning rickshaw tour through traditional Hutongs, in the afternoon visit the exquisite Summer Palace. Our evening entertainment will be a fascinating Chinese Acrobatic Show. Day 13: Depart BeijingEnjoy a last minute shopping spree at the copy markets before boarding our overnight flight to New Zealand. Day 14: Arrive New ZealandArrive home this morning. |
