Vietnam at a Glance enables the traveller to still enjoy a relaxing yet comprehensive tour of Vietnam and take home many wonderful memories. TOUR ITINERARYDays 1-2: New Zealand to SaigonFly to Saigon with Singapore Airlines. Due to flight schedules we have an overnight stopover in Singapore. Please note that only breakfast is included in Singapore. Days 3-4: SaigonExplore the Mekong Delta. Take boat trips to visit local floating markets, villages and home industries. Tomorrow we visit the Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre DameCathedral, Central Post Office, Cholon (Chinatown), Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. Day 5: SaigonExplore the Cu Chi Tunnels and Tay Ninh, where we experience the midday service at the head temple of the Cao Dai religion. Days 6-7: Saigon to Hoi AnFly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and China Beach en route. Tonight is free to visit the local tailors. Tomorrow undertake a walking tour of Hoi An. Visit an old merchant’s home, the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese pagoda. Day 7: Hoi An to HueDrive over the Hai Van Pass to Hue. Take a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, continue by coach to Thien Mu Pagoda and enjoy a boat trip on the Perfume River. This evening partake in a cooking class. Days 9-10: Hue to HanoiVisit Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Royal tombs. Fly to Hanoi and enjoy a Water Puppets performance this evening. Tomorrow visit the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Stilt House and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and drive around Hoan Kiem Lake. Enjoy an afternoon walking tour around the old quarter. Day 11: Hanoi - Halong BayTravel to Halong Bay and cruise through spectacular scenery. After our cruise we travel back to Hanoi. Note: You may choose to leave the group today and stay overnight on a junk boat in Halong Bay before returning to Hanoi Airport directly tomorrow afternoon. Day 12: Depart HanoiEnjoy a morning at leisure in Hanoi. Transfer to the airport and board our flight back to New Zealand. Day 13: Arrive New ZealandArrive home this morning. |
