As a solo traveller, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/\">Wendy Wu Tours<\/a> was the perfect choice.<br><br>As the time was getting closer, I was starting to feel some nerves. COVID-19 was emerging and my family and friends were a bit apprehensive about me going. I was keeping a very close eye on the travel warnings and praying it would still be safe to travel to Vietnam by the time I was ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Come March and off I went! I left a very cool Tassie morning and landed in a very hot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/vietnam\/hanoi\/ho-chi-minh-quarter\/\">Ho Chi Minh City<\/a> eight hours later. The heat literally felt like a slap in the face, and I loved it!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide\" style=\"grid-template-columns:45% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><noscript><img width=\"228\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/michele_vietnam.png\" alt class=\"wp-image-5014\"><\/noscript><img width=\"228\" height=\"180\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20228%20180%22%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" alt class=\"wp-image-5014 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/michele_vietnam.png\"><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h5>Relaxing by the rice paddies<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>First day, after meeting my fellow travellers and our tour guide Tuan, I embarked on what would be an amazing 12-day journey through Vietnam. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>So many amazing highlights, however the things that stood out for me was the amazing food! I tried my first Pho in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/vietnam\/saigon\/\">Saigon<\/a> and it was delicious!<br><br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/travel\/article\/vietnam-food-dishes\/index.html\">Vietnamese food is yummy<\/a>, fresh and vibrant.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Other highlights included:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Learning to cross the road while doing my best to dodge the traffic.<\/li><li>Riding a bicycle through the rice fields outside Hoi An.<\/li><li>Walking through ancient town in Hoi An and being completed mesmerised by this gorgeous place. Tasting my first egg coffee in Hanoi and loving it.<\/li><li>Sailing up the Mekong River.<\/li><li>Cruising overnight in Halong Bay and just enjoying the peace and tranquillity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This is just to name a few!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Towards the end the tour though, COVID-19 was taking off. A lot of restaurants and tourist attractions were closing down. We were the last tour group to go through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wendywutours.com.au\/vietnam\/halong-bay\/\">Halong Bay<\/a> before they shut it down. I count my lucky stars! I absolutely loved Vietnam! The history, the food, the sights and the beautiful Vietnamese people who made me feel welcome in their country. Simply amazing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tour guide Tuan was awesome!
