Calling all wine lovers! The Tamar Valley awaits. This hidden pocket in the north of Tasmania, located between Launceston and Bass Strait is home to some of the best and oldest vineyards in the country. There are over 32 wineries stretched along the 65km trail following the Tamar River, each with their own unique character and specialty. Winemakers are keen to welcome you on wine tasting experiences or simply chat about their craft and produce. 

More than just a vineyard trail, the valley also possesses an abundance of specialty stores, each showcasing their delectable locally sourced and produced wares, from freshly picked strawberries, to artisan cheese infused with local flavours to truffles, honey and lavender ice cream! The valley is way more than just food though, because you need a dose of adventure to work up an appetite! Luckily there is lots to see and do. There is something here for every kind of ‘explorer’, from seaside to rainforest walks, hiking trails and bicycle tracks, the scenery on offer is beautiful and displays the sweeping valley in all its glory.
