Located in Far North Queensland the Daintree Forest feels like you are stepping back in time to a simpler world. An uncomplicated paradise that is wild, lush and where mountains fill the bluest of skies. Declared a World Heritage listed site in 1988, the Daintree is the oldest rainforest in the world and spans over 1200sq kilometres between Mossman Gorge and the Bloomfield River further north. Home to a unique and complex ecosystem which contains a plethora of diverse wildlife and plant species. Its ancestral owners are the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people who still caretake parts of the land.

The rainforest comprises of two parts, one being Mossman Gorge which forms the southern section. There’s no better way to explore the area than with a guided walk, through tree top bridges, walking paths and from the base of the gorge, with a member of the local Aboriginal tribe who will explain indigenous customs and survival techniques.

The second section is Cape Tribulation, a remote headland within Daintree National Park offering a combination of rainforest and beaches. It is here that the lushness of the forest thins right out to connect with the sandy shore. Look out into the headland and gaze in wonder at the turquoise waters.
