With a population of just over 212,000 and famous for a vibrant creative culture fuelled by great food, wine, craft beer, coffee and events, Wellington is a cosmopolitan city with an energetic personality. Wellington is where the North Island meets the South Island with the interislander ferry crossing connecting over to Picton in the South Island. It is a passenger, vehicle and the rail service across New Zealand’s Cook Strait.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the city, Oriental Bay’s golden sand beach is a top spot for a bit of walking, cycling or people watching.
